Layi dedicates his work to his mother, who immigrated from Nigeria to the United States in the 1980s and still lives in the Rhode Island area to this day. Layi is forever indebted to the miracles she performed and sacrifices she made as a single mother. She did everything to provide her family with opportunities to succeed and always put her children before herself. Layi's hard work, determination, and sense of responsibility to serve others is directly linked to the values his mother instilled in him since his youth.
